Course outcome and aims:
- To acquire an understanding of the development of Indian literatures through different time periods( from the Classical to the Partition )
- To understand socio- political, cultural contexts of those times.
- Acquire ability to compare and contrast literary works.

Introduction to the paper ( Background essays: Sachidanandan, joshi and others) ( 2hrs)
Unit 2: Classical Period (4 hrs)

Unit 3: Medieval Period ( 2hrs)
Study of Bhakti Movement and select representations( tamil, kannada, gujarati, Hindi)
